Team Malaysia Wins Ocean Hackathon® 2025 International Grand Finale

Team Malaysia has been officially awarded Winner of Ocean Hackathon® 2025 at the International Grand Finale held in Brest, marking a significant achievement for the country on the global stage.

The winning team comprised students from Asia Pacific University (APU) and Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), who demonstrated strong scientific rigor, innovation capability, and technical execution throughout the competition.

The project was originally developed at CEMACS, where its foundational research was established before progressing to the international level. Competing against finalist teams from nine other countries, Team Malaysia presented a well-structured and impactful solution that received unanimous recognition from the international jury.

This accomplishment underscores Malaysia’s growing presence in global marine innovation and highlights the role of Ocean Hackathon Kuala Lumpur as an emerging regional platform for interdisciplinary collaboration.
